winter photo sessions {boulder photographer}

Welp, that’s a wrap 2018, and what a 2018 you were.  I never could have imagined what this year would bring to my business, even in my wildest dreams.  From starting out as one of the Top 100 Photographers to Watch in 2018 to attending conferences and meeting some of my favorite photographers, and being invited to write a Breakout photography class.  To top it all off, I photographed hundreds of families, brand new little babies, and some beautiful high school seniors.  I don’t think I’ve had a year yet were I poured quite so much effort into my photography.  2019 is starting off with a pretty significant bang as I head to Dana Point, California to instruct at Click Away Photography Conference.  I look ahead with excitement for what’s to come, and so much GRATITUDE for all of you who choose me to be your photographer or your instructor or your friend.  What an honor.  A huge honor and I don’t take it lightly.  Read to the very end of this post to circle to another photographer’s work that I greatly admire!

Winter use to be my slow season, and although I do try to book fewer sessions this time of year, I love photographing in winter.  Winter photo sessions can be my favorite.  Bringing in the beauty and golden light of the season encourages me indoors where the light is moody, and outdoors with twinkly lights and long shadows.  I just love this time of year.  Whether it’s families outside at sunset (ahem, 3pm) in the fields and pastures around my house, or in my tiny warm studio where I get to bring the greenery in, there’s never a shortage of love.  And love is what this is all about.  Capturing the love that is now, so in ten years and twenty years and fifty years we can look back and remember all the beauty that was present in our lives.

Sharing just a few recent photos with you, both personal and professional from some winter photo sessions….
