newborn girl photo session {Boulder newborn photographer}
We had the most beautiful newborn girl photo session last week. Â Little Genna came to the studio for her newborn photos and I think she was the sleepiest baby I have ever photographed. Â In a typical newborn session, I have about 6 different setups ready, and Genna slept through all of them so easily that we had time for more. Â Starting by swaddling her in white and surrounding her in a wreath of tulips, our first pose was just stunning. Â For every baby girl, I like to do a flower set up. Â In the warmer months we go out to my garden for one pose, and when it’s cold outside we stay inside the warm studio and use fresh flowers. Â Since Genna’s a spring baby and her nursery is decorated with a Peter Rabbit theme, tulips were my flower of choice. Â I always purchase flowers for newborn sessions the morning of the session so they’re fresh and perfect. Â We stayed with a color scheme of whites, creams, yellows and pinks (and a touch of lavender) because that’s what matches her nursery. Â After all of the beautiful beanbag poses, I layed her down in a little wooden crate that I had filled with skeins of pink fluffy wool. Â I love the texture and color of this wool so much. Â It’s the little things like color and texture that elevate a newborn session from a simple photo shoot to fine art photography. Â Genna slept like a dream in a little twig nest with a lavender blanket I had just finished knitting. Â Last, we took some photos of Genna with her gorgeous, happy mom. Â Photographing mothers with their babies is so important to me. Â If I had a beautiful photo of my mom holding me when I was a baby, that image would be framed in my room. Â I was so happy to meet this loving mom and to help her welcome her baby girl into the world with custom photography. Â Enjoy this peek!
