first year birthday photography {Boulder baby photographer}

I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet baby girl, her mama and her grandmother at her first year birthday photography session.  It was just a mini session, and we packed a lot into thirty minutes.  With babies I like to move quickly.  Once we have the image, we move on to the next one.  Babies get hungry and tired from being overstimulated, and nothing is stimulating for a baby like a photographer putting a giant camera in your face and playing peek-a-boo a dozen times getting you to smile in beautiful light.  In this mini session, we were able to get photos of this little one having a tea party with Miss Bunny and ride a hot air balloon.  We had time for more and took some mother-daughter photos and grandmother-granddaughter photos.  We had a lot of golden light streaming in, which I used to our advantage.  I think it adds the magic glittery touch to the tea party.

Every photo session with me is a custom photo session.  I love to help plan the setups with you, and bring simple props to create the images you’re hoping for.  Lately I’ve been having more and more requests for sessions with some magic.  Whether it’s balloons or a tea party, bringing one of my horses into the photo session, or just using bubbles – I find it exciting to come up with something creative for each photo session.  Now that the weather is beautiful and the fields are turning green, so many gorgeous locations are available again.  My sunflowers are just popping their faces out of the ground and I’ve already booked several sunflower sessions for late summer.  I’m looking forward to all the spring and summer sessions that are around the corner and bringing creative ideas to each and every one.  Enjoy a peek at this first year birthday photography session…
